Are there rebates for installing variable speed pumps?

In San Diego County and most of California, for residential pools, the answer is YES!

While rebates vary with the different utilities throughout the state, San Diego Gas and Electric (SDGE) has been offering a $200.00 rebate when you replace a single speed pump

with a Variable Speed Pump (VSP).

The rebate forms can be downloaded on the SDGE website, http://www.sdge.com/buyers-guide-item/3883/variable-speed-pool-pumps. You will need to provide your basic info and some simple pump info, attach a copy of a paid invoice for the pump installation and mail it off. Usually, within 3 weeks, you receive a check for $200.00. The rebate form can also be submitted online. Pool Pump Rebates are usually available until such time that those funds run out.
